For nearly a quarter century, Dominick Tringali has maintained an unrelenting passion for architectural design, one that took root in Florence, Italy, where Dominick studied classical architecture.

Born in Detroit, Michigan, the son of hard-working immigrants from Augusta, Sicily, Italy, Dominick was strongly influenced by his parents, whose creativity and love of the arts were passed on to him. His father, who worked in the automotive industry, continually refined the way he handled any task until he perfected it, and inspired his son to do likewise. His mother, warm and outgoing, was instrumental in giving Dominick his “people skills” – an instinctual feel for the way people interact with each other and with their environment.

As a child, Dominick traveled to Italy on a number of occasions, and it was there he began to sketch some of the most breathtaking architecture ever created. At an early age, he knew he wanted to design structures that, like Italy’s great works of architecture, would endure.

In 1979, Dominick began his college training in architecture at the Lawrence Institute of Technology in Detroit, graduating with a Bachelor of Architecture degree. He joined David Lubin in 1985 and, from there, went on to become partners with Lubin in 1988 when Lubin/Tringali Associates (LTA) was formed. In 1996, Tringali established Dominick Tringali Architects.

Dominick’s own design philosophy, his experience and knowledge, and his commitment to achieve greatness in each project he tackles, have been passed down to every member of his firm, making Dominick Tringali Architects a force in the Midwest.
